4級實驗室規劃建設時用于從事高度危害性微生物及病毒實驗，宜設計成獨立建筑物。需與其它實驗用房設置在同一建筑物內時，須有明確分區及隔離。

實驗區入口處須設置危害性標志、安全告示及工作狀況標志燈。

實驗室出入口處須設置洗手盆并應采用光電式龍頭開關。

A wash basin shall be set at the entrance and exit of the laboratory and photoelectric faucet switch shall be used.

The laboratory shall not have external windows.

實驗室內須維持負壓，向室外排風須經特殊過濾。

Fixed test bench and other fixed facilities shall not be used in the laboratory.

須為實驗材料及儀器設備的出入提供消毒設施。

實驗室的地面、墻面、頂棚、觀察窗及管道穿洞須嚴格密封。

The floors, walls, ceilings, observation windows and pipe penetrations of the laboratory must be strictly sealed.

實驗室內須配備Ⅱ級及Ⅲ級生物安全柜及雙門高壓蒸汽消毒鍋。

The laboratory must be equipped with Class II and Class III biosafety cabinets and double-door high-pressure steam disinfection pans.

實驗室內應減少突出的建筑構配件及明露管線。

The prominent building components and exposed pipelines shall be reduced in the laboratory.
